Important DPS Information For Your Next PCS

Make sure you plan your next PCS right, we don’t want any more stress in your life.  So, here are some very helpful tips and tricks to assist you with Move.mil the official DPS portal.

  • Make sure you get your Log-In information from ETA via http://bit.ly/2vfJkth (Electronic Transpiration Acquisition.) Nine times out of ten your computer will stop you and state the site is unsafe, click on “Advanced” and proceed.  {NOTE: If you receive an “ERROR” or “AUTHENTICATION ERROR” contact customer service at 1-800-462-2176.
  • Make sure the computer you are using has a GOOD internet connect.  I always use the desktop that is hardwired to the internet not the wifi as I do not want to get kicked off. If you do not have a home computer or internet access go to the housing business center or local library.
  • The system will ask you for an email, I suggest using a Gmail, but you can always use Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. DO NOT use your or your spouses/parters military email addresses this system is not an official DOD system, it’s a civilian system.
  • Make sure your pop-up blocker is turned off.  If you forget the system will remind you as soon as you log-in.
  • You will have to do a self counseling on the site.  Look for the “Training” button in the upper right hand corner of the DPS home page.
  • After the self counseling is all complete you “should” receive an email to the email address you provided stating who your assigned moving company is.  In this email you will find all the contact information for the moving company (Name, Address, Phone Number, Email Address, etc.). If you DO NOT receive this information within two weeks of completing the self counseling (via email) contact your local transportation office right away, as you will need pack and load days.  I have found it easier to go into the office rather than call.
